Hi friend, I wanted to sit down and tell you, honestly and without any rushing, where The Morning Set Series stands right now.
Book 1, Between the Lines and Blueprints, is out. That is Maeve and Alistair’s story, and it is the beginning of everything. If you have read it, thank you for starting here with me. If you have not yet, you do not need to worry about catching up on anything else first. Book 1 comes first, and the rest will follow in order, one couple at a time.
Books 2, 3, and 4
Book 2 is By Design and Devotion, Devon and Ayana’s story. Book 3 is Beyond the Stacks and Stones, Elise and Tariq’s story. Book 4 is Beneath the Canvas and Chords. I am sharing those titles and couples with you because they are already on the Books pages, and I want you to know the shape of the series, not because I am about to spoil anything. I will not share plot details here before they are ready to be shared, and I will not share manuscript passages either. When there is something real to tell you about a book, I will tell you here, in plain words.
All three of those books are coming soon. I know that phrase can feel vague, and I want to be clear about what it means here. It means they are in progress, and it means I am not promising a date before I know I can keep it. I have said this before, and I mean it: I would rather write slowly and well than rush a book you deserve to love. That is especially true for a series like this, where the friendships matter just as much as the romances, and where each couple deserves their own full, careful story.
How I am writing
I am writing in order, and I am writing at a pace I can actually keep, alongside being a wife and a mom and all the ordinary, wonderful chaos of home. Some weeks the writing comes easily, and some weeks it comes in small pieces, between everything else. That is okay. A cozy book should not be written in a panic, and I do not want you to feel panicked waiting for one either. There will be no countdowns here, and no hints that a date is coming when it is not. When a book moves into a new stage, and I am ready to say so, I will say so here first, in my own words.
For now, the best way to enjoy the series is simply to enjoy Book 1, and to come back here whenever you like. I will keep this Journal updated as honestly as I can, and my monthly Letters will link to those updates, so you will not miss anything without getting a flurry of emails.
Thank you for being patient with me, and for loving these characters enough to wait for them. I am writing for you, and I cannot wait to share the next book when it is ready.
